CASE NUMBER 2006-11584
In preparation for a long family vacation by automobile, I took my car in to Mavis Mechanics for full check and inspection. I paid $215.00 for the car check up, which included NY State inspection. The next day we were on the road traveling and as I was traveling through Manhattan with a car full of children, my car died in the middle of 7th Ave. and 36th street. There was so much traffic it was very dangerous just getting out of the car. In any case, I finally got the car towed to mechnic shop who charged me $790.00 for a new battery and used alternator and delayed our vacation by one day. I am making a claim against Mavis Mechanics for the $215.00 they charged me for checking my car the previous day since they were negligent and incompetent

CASE NUMBER 2006-11580
I was turning left at a stop light off a main hwy. Once I turned left i put my blinker on to turn the first left into a shopping center/ parking lot. I was waiting for traffic to let me in and it had been a few minutes when a car hit me from behind. My car thrusted into the traffic, the oncoming cars stopped and let me pull into the parking lot. The truck that hit me pulled across the street. I was shaken and checked my car as i saw them checking their car. As i reached in to get my insurance card they sped away. I only had a witness and his family who saw the entire accident. I called all the local body shops and found out that a truck fitting the discription had been brought in the day after my accident to be repaired. I was able to get their liscence from the body shop and call it in to the police.
