CASE NUMBER 2005-11249
A customer claims that he was served a salad with a cockroach in it, while on a first date, and thinks the restaurant should be held liable for this. The same customer also saw a cockroach in the restaurant’s kitchen, and is suing the restaurant for that as well as his emotional distress for $5,000. The restaurant owner says the restaurant has a very good reputation and that they were inspected last summer by the food inspection committee. Furthermore they have never received any similar complaints, and the waiter that served the salad claims he didn’t see a cockroach.

Just recently I moved out of the house I¡¯ve been renting from the plaintive for about four years. After I told the plaintive I was moving out I expected to get my $1000 deposit back, however the plaintive refused and claimed the money was going to repair the bathroom floorboards that were rotting. The plaintive blames me for the damages even though the condition of the floor was already bad when I moved in, and it¡¯s natural that over four years they would deteriorate.

CASE NUMBER 2005-11246
I live at an apartment, close to a highway, alone. I have lived here for about three years and have never had any confrontations with the landlord. Recently we had a disagreement and he threw me out of the apartment building. While I was away from home at my job he took all of my things still in the apartment and left them outside. One of the many things he left out in the cold was a cage containing two of my pets. One escaped and the other died of sickness. The landlord killed two of my pets and is liable for animal abuse.

CASE NUMBER 2005-11245
I was walking home one day from school when I saw a dog sitting on the front lawn of someone's house. No one was outside watching the dog, and I guessed that maybe the owner was going to take him for a walk soon. Being a pet owner myself, I went up to it and petted it softly. The dog started barking, and as I tried to run away, it bit me in the leg. I fell to the ground, trying to struggle free, but the dog held my leg in its teeth. I was soon able to get free, by kicking the dog away. My leg was covered with blood and my pants were torn. The owner responsible for the dog was not watching over it, and he should be liable for the pain and damage the dog brought to me.

CASE NUMBER 2005-11243
The school had a construction company build a new fieldhouse. It was during basketball season so the team started to have practices in there. It was a hazardous environment because one of the exit signs built on the wall had sharp corners and was able to create a large and bloody gash on my leg. The scar still remains. I wish to sue the constuction company for their incompentence in building a safe fieldhouse.

CASE NUMBER 2005-11241
I was recently involved in what could have been a near fatal accident. My vehicle's airbags failed to deploy leaving myself and my passanger at risk. The vehicle was a brand new 2005 Mini- cooper, purchased only three weeks earlier. I sustained several injuries, that according to the speciallist at the hospital could have been prevented had the airbags deployed. My passanger, 90 year- old grandmother suffered from a broken leg and a severe concussion. BMW is liable for the injuries sustained, as well as Dave's BMW on Stevens Creek Blvd. is responsible for selling a faulty product. The medical bills accumulating from the accident have already exceeded what my insurance company has agreed to pay. BMW and the dealership should be held liable for the injuries and pay the remainder of the bills as well as a small contribution for the emotional distress I have suffered.
